Riveted Cherry + Steel Shelf

Inspired by historic integrations of metal and wood in industrial settings, this steel and cherry shelving system crafted by EngineHouse is an exploration of modern manufacturing processes and the potential for merging traditional joinery techniques with a rapidly scalable technology.

By laminating cherry between two thin steel uprights with solid brass rivets, three unstable components provide a lightweight, exceptionally strong foundation for this shelving. The shelf boards are made of solid cherry and are entirely adjustable, aside from the top, bottom and middle shelves.

Through thoughtful design and quality craftsmanship, EngineHouse works to create “future antiques” – objects and spaces intended to be enjoyed for generations to come. With expertise in architectural design and fabrication, EngineHouse develops products engineered to last a lifetime.

This shelving is made from laser-cut steel, cherry, and brass rivets. Price is available upon request. Standard dimensions: 16”Dx36”Wx96”H or 16”Dx48”W x120”H; available in custom sizes.
