Designed and handcrafted by Mike Korsak, this three-drawer occasional table’s elegantly shaped legs add a touch of playfulness and individuality. Figured, quartersawn wood adds fantastic visual interest to an otherwise understated piece.
Using hand tools as often as possible, Mike believes that wood responds positively to these traditional implements. While he uses power tools to rough mill material and to waste away large amounts of wood in preparation for final shaping and smoothing, Mike’s practice of hand tooling allows for more precise joinery, smoother surfaces, and an increased clarity of wood grain.
This table features Prunus serotina (black cherry) with rosewood pulls. Drawer sides and backs are curly, quartersawn maple, with white cedar drawer bottoms. Overall dimensions: 29″ H x 26.5″ W x 15.25″ D.
